Androsky and Garcia Post #1 Pairs Wins for SMCC Beach Volleyball

Mckenna Androsky and Kristine Garcia posted a straight-set victory as the No. 1 pairs, and Leilani Clark and Lauren Castro won in three sets as the No. 5 pairs as the South Mountain Community College beach volleyball team battled with Benedictine University-Mesa on Mar. 15 at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Ariz. SMCC nearly pulled off its first win over a four-year university and also won an exhbition match against the Redhawks.
Androsky and Garcia continued their successful spring with a 21-13 and 21-10 win as the top pair, and are now 4-3 on the season.
Clark and Castro were successful in three sets as the No. 5 pairs, winning 21-16, 7-21 and 15-12. Castro served the last six points to win the match, overcoming a 12-9 deficit in the third set.
The No. 2 pairs of Madison Cadden and Nikole Lunsford fell in three sets, and Garcia and Emily Wilson won an exhibition match in straight sets.
