SMCC Men's Hoops Falls to Glendale CC

The South Mountain Community College men's basketball team lost 103-70 to Glendale Community College in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference on Jan. 22, 2022. Sophomore Demonte Demore scored a team-high 18 points, but the Cougars could not overcome a slow first half. 

SMCC trailed 55-19 at halftime to the Gauchos, but rallied to win the second half 51-48. The Cougars shot 36.5 percent from the field and knocked down six 3-pointers. SMCC grabbed 40 rebounds, dished out 14 assists and had eight steals in the loss. 

Demore finished 6-of-10 from the field and grabbed six rebounds in 21 minutes of action. He also connected on a 3-pointer and had two steals. Darien Allen and Jalen Smith scored eight points, Kane Kenyon added seven, and four Cougars finished with five points. Allen had a team-high nine rebounds.
