Forty-Three SMCC Student-Athletes Earn 2021-22 NJCAA All-Academic Honors

A total of 43 South Mountain Community College student-athletes earned 2021-22 NJCAA All-Academic honors for their work in the classroom. The SMCC women's golf team received NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors after posting a cumulative 3.65 team GPA, and the Cougars had 10 student-athletes earn First Team awards after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Cougar Women's Hoops Splits Season-Opening Trip to Nevada

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (1-1) split its season-opening trip to Nevada, defeating Western Wyoming CC 50-47 on Nov. 5 and falling 74-42 to College of Southern Nevada on Nov. 6. Freshman Brea Patterson led three Cougars in double-figures with 14 points and five steals in the victory over Western Wyoming. The next day, Patterson scored 11 points and added four rebounds, five assists and five steals in the contest with the host Coyotes.
