Central Arizona Defeats SMCC Women's Basketball

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 88-60 to Central Arizona in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on December 3. Sophomore Genesis Adams led SMCC with 17 points and eight rebounds and fellow sophomores Myla Lee and Andrea Willeto added 11 points in defeat. 

SMCC shot 42.2 percent (19-of-45) from the field and 67.9 (19-of-28) from the free-throw line. The Cougars added 28 rebounds, 14 assists, nine steals and two blocks. 

Adams was 7-of-12 from the field and four of her rebounds came on the offensive glass. She added an assist, a steal and a block. 

Lee went 4-of-5 from the field and posted three rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block, while Willeto was 3-of-5 from the field with three rebounds and an assist.

Freshman Hailey Connor had five points, two rebounds and three steals, and freshman Nyese Jones chipped in seven points, five rebounds, two steals and a team-high seven assists.
