Cougar Women's Golf Places Third at South Mountain Invitational

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed third at the South Mountain Invitational on Feb. 19-20 at Apache Creek Golf Course in Apache Junction, AZ. Freshman Kylie Rehberger tied for the second at the event at 11-over, 153, and Trixie Sabulao tied for 13th at the Cougars' home tournament.
Rehberger posted rounds of 77 and 76 to tie with Chandler-Gilbert CC's Sophie Coleman for runner-up at the event. Mesa CC's Alyzzah Vakasioula won the event at two-under, 140. Sabulao opened with a 85 and posted a 93 in her second round to finish at 36-over, 178.
Gina Benoche placed 16th at 42-over, 184 with rounds of 91 and 93, while Alyssa Miner tied for 21st at 49-over, 191 with rounds of 94 and 97.
Emma Fisher placed 23rd at 51-over, 193 with rounds of 96 and 97, and Tabitha Bitter took 24th at 52-over, 194 with rounds of 100 and 94.
The Cougars posted rounds of 347 and 356 to finish at 135-over, 703. Mesa CC won the event at 47-over, 615, while Pima CC was second at 105-over, 673.
