SMCC Women's Golf Announces Four-Year Transfers

Sophomores Kylie Rehberger and Trixie Sabulao of the South Mountain Community College women's golf team will transfer to four-year universities to continue their intercollegiate careers. Rehberger will play at Arkansas Tech, an NCAA Division II institution in Russellville, Ark., while Sabulao will transfer to Tennessee State University, an NCAA Division I institution in Nashville, Tenn. 

"Both had a goal this year to play at the next level after South Mountain and they stuck to our game plan of being a student-athlete and good teammate," said SMCC head coach Brady Edwards. "This is very deserving for both Kylie and Trixie" 

Rehberger earned two First Team All-ACCAC, All-Region, and All-District honors over her SMCC career. In 2023, she tied for 22nd at the NJCAA National Championships at +25 (313) and tied for 13th at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships at +11 (227).

She opened the season by winning the Pima CC Invitational at +13 (153). Rehberger also placed second at the Mesa T-Bird Invitational at +3 (147), the Estrella Mountain Invite at +15 (159), at the Coyote Classic at +5 (147), and the South Mountain Invite at +5 (149). 

In 2022, Rehberger tied for 52nd at the 2022 NJCAA National Championships with a four-round score of +57 (345) and posted an eighth-place finish at +9 (239) at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships. She also posted three second-place finishes during the spring campaign. 

Sabulao played two seasons at SMCC and competed in seven tournaments in 2023. She tied for 26th at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships at +21 (237) and tied for seventh at the Coyote Classic at +12 (154). She also placed 13th at the Pima CC Invitational (+30, 170), the Mesa T-Bird Invitational (+26, 170), and the Estrella Mountain Invite (+29, 173). 

In 2022, Sabulao tied for 11th at the Pima Women's Invite at +31 (167) and at the Paradise Valley Invitational at +31 (175). She was 34th at the NJCAA Southwest District at +57 (273) and finished 13th at the Estrella Mountain Women's Invite at +35 (179).
