SMCC Women's Soccer Falls to Chandler-Gilbert CC

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-5-1, 0-2-1 ACCAC) lost 7-1 to Chandler-Gilbert CC in an ACCAC match on Sept. 9 at the SMCC Soccer Field. Freshman midifelder Keyla Garcia scored her team-leading second goal of the season and freshman Keiry Foneseca recorded an assist on the play. 

The Coyotes struck for five goals in the first half and two in the second half to post the win. Garcia found the back of the net in the 68th minute off a feed from Fonseca. 

CGCC outshot SMCC 27-7 for the contest with Marian Oliva making four saves and Gabriella Andre recording 11 stops in goal for the Cougars. The Coyotes had 12 corner kicks to one for the Cougars, and the teams combined for seven fouls.
