Sophomore Charlie Deeds earned 2021 NJCAA All-Academic Third Team honors for his work in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year. A right-handed pitcher from Larkspur, Colo., Deeds carried a a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 for the year and helped the SMCC baseball team lead the region and rank among the nation's best in Team GPA.

On the mound in 2021, Deeds appeared in three games and started one. He tossed 1.2 innings with one hit allowed in a home win over Pima CC. He also had a strikeout in an inning of relief work in a home win over Arizona Western.
