Cougar Soccer will not play in Spring, will look to resume in the Fall

South Mountain Community College will not field men's or women's soccer teams for the upcoming 2021 spring semester. The programs will return in fall 2021 under the guidance of head coaches Nicole Acosta and Mark Eggleston

"The covid pandemic has hit our community hard, including program enrollment numbers, and while we are disappointed to not be able to field teams this spring, we fully anticipate soccer coming back strong in the fall 2021 semester,"  said SMCC Athletic Director Todd Eastin.  "We have full faith and confidence in Coach Eggleston and Coach Acosta to build and restore the Cougar soccer programs to new heights and accomplishments."

The NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA have stated that the spring 2021 semester will not count towards a student-athlete's eligibility for future participation.
