The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 4-0 to Gateway Community College on Oct. 23. The Geckos scored four first-half goals to spoil the Cougars' Sophomore Day.
Phoenix College Defeats SMCC Men's Soccer

The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 6-0 to Phoenix College on Oct. 19. The Bears scored three goals in each half to secure the victory. In goal, Phillip Perez had 12 saves for the Cougars.
Comeback Falls Short for SMCC against Scottsdale CC

The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 4-3 to Scottsdale Community College on Oct. 12. After the Artichokes built a 3-0 lead in the first half, the Cougars scored three goals over the final 16 minutes to nearly pull off the comeback. Dair Figueroa scored in the 74th minute to make the score 3-1 and Miguel Perez scored in the 88th minute to bring SMCC within 3-2. A goal 30 seconds later by SCC was immediately answered by a goal from Michael Miller. However, the Cougars could not find an equalizer in the final minute of action.
Yavapai College Defeats SMCC Men's Soccer

The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 9-0 to Yavapai College on Oct. 10. The Roughriders scored five goals in the first half and four in the second to secure the win. In goal, Phillip Perez made 10 saves in 68 minutes while Cristobal Coretz had four saves in the final 22 minutes.

The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 4-0 to Paradise Valley Community College on Oct. 5. After a scoreless first half, the Pumas scored four times in the second half to earn the victory.
