Coach Meisha Fox was named South Mountain Community College women's basketball head coach for the 2022-23 season. Coach Fox joined the SMCC women's basketball staff as an assistant coach before the start of the 2021-22 season.

Coach Fox has always possessed a strong passion for the game of basketball since her playing career began at W. H. Spencer High School in Columbus, GA. As a freshman, she earned her spot as a starter on Varsity and was one of the teams scoring leaders. As a sophomore, she led her team to win their regional tournament, earning them an appearance to state finals for the first time in school history. By her junior and senior year she was voted player of the year in her district.

Coach Fox received several offers to various Division I and II schools but chose to stay local, accepting a full ride to attend Columbus State University where she gained valuable experience as the Cougars made it to the Sweet 16 of the Peach Belt Conference. After her freshman season at Columbus State, Meisha transferred to nationally ranked Life University in Marietta, GA to be a part of the first women’s basketball team in school history. With a standout career there, she helped her team earn back-to-back appearances to the NAIA Division I National Tournament and a #1 ranking in 2001 with a 31-3 season.

Coach Fox went on to Europe to start her pro career in Hungary with stops in Germany, Mexico, as well as the U.S. Minor Leagues. She gained experience as both a player and assistant coach in several of the Women's Pro minor Leagues. She was also voted top female coach/trainer three consecutive years at Steve Smith's (former NBA all-pro/Olympian) basketball camp as well as one of the top trainers at Magic Johnson's "Triple-Threat basketball Academy" in East Lansing, Michigan. A knee injury in 2008 ended her professional playing career and she transitioned into coaching.

In 2011, Coach Fox moved to Arizona and started a youth basketball program with her husband Reggie Fox. Her high energy, passion, knowledge, and coaching style attracted a lot of attention thus, resulting in her coaching and mentoring some of the top players in the valley. Soon after, her program had become one of the top girls programs in AZ. In 2013, her girl’s 6th, 7th, & 8th grade teams each won the AAU State Championship for Arizona and competed in the AAU National Championship. In 2017, Coach Fox took a position as a Varsity Head Coach in the Phoenix Union School District (Alhambra HS), where she was nominated for consideration as District 6A Metro Coach of the Year for the 2018-2019 season.
