SMCC Men's & Women's Golf Fundraiser
June 27, 2023
The SMCC men's and women's golf program will host a Tournament Fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 18 at The Legacy Golf Course at 6808 S. 32nd Street in Phoenix. The cost is $125 per person and $500 for a foursome. The registration cost includes 18 holes of golf, carts, range balls, and lunch. There will be a silent auction and a raffle at the luncheon.
SMCC Women's Golf Announces Four-Year Transfers

Sophomores Kylie Rehberger and Trixie Sabulao of the South Mountain Community College women's golf team will transfer to four-year universities to continue their intercollegiate careers. Rehberger will play at Arkansas Tech, an NCAA Division II institution in Russellville, Ark., while Sabulao will transfer to Tennessee State University, an NCAA Division I institution in Nashville, Tenn.
Kylie Rehberger, Angelina Borg-Malec Post Impressive Results at NJCAA Women's National Championships

Sophomore Kylie Rehberger and freshman Angelina Borg-Malec of the South Mountain Community College women's golf team performed well at the 2023 NJCAA Women's National Championship May 9-12 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan. Rehberger tied for 22nd at +25 (313) while Borg tied for 44th at +40 (328) as both improved over the four-day tournament to wrap up an outstanding 2023 spring season.
Kylie Rehberger, Angelina Borg-Malec Qualify for NJCAA National Championships

Sophomore Kylie Rehberger and freshman Angelina Borg-Malec of the South Mountain Community College women's golf team have qualified as individuals to compete in the 2023 NJCAA National Championships at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Finney County, Kan., from May 9-12. Rehberger tied for 13th at +11 (227), and Borg-Malec tied for 17th at +16 (232) at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships at Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West, Ariz., from April 17-19.

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed seventh at the NJCAA Southwest District Championships at Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West, Ariz., from April 17-19. The Cougars finished at +72 (936) over the 54 holes as sophomore Kylie Rehberger tied for 13th at +11 (227) and freshman Angelina Borg-Malec tied for 17th at +16 (232).
Trio of Cougar Women's Golfers Collect All-ACCAC Honors

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed third at the South Mountain Invite at +88 (664) on Mar. 29-30 at Aguila Golf Club in Laveen Village, Ariz. Individually, sophomore Kylie Rehberger placed second, freshman Angelina Borg-Malec tied for fourth and freshman Raquel Pargas placed 16th to earn 2023 All-ACCAC honors.
SMCC Women's Golf Wins Coyote Classic to Set Program Milestone

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team won the Coyote Classic Mar. 25-26 at Las Colinas Golf Course in Queen Creek, Ariz. The Cougars led wire-to-wire at the event, firing a 307 in the first round and a 306 in the second round to edge Mesa CC by four strokes and post the first tournament win in program history. Individually, sophomore Kylie Rehberger placed second at +5 (147), and freshman Angelina Borg-Malec took sixth at +9 (151).
SMCC Women's Golf Places Second at Paradise Valley Invitational

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed second at the Paradise Valley Invitational Mar. 6-7 at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz. The Cougars posted scores of 333 and 334 over the two rounds to finish at +91. Individually, freshman Angelina Borg-Malec led SMCC by tying for fifth place at +16 (160) with two identical rounds of 80.

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed second at the Estrella Mountain Invite Feb. 23-24 at Sundance Golf Club in Buckeye, Ariz. SMCC battled with Mesa CC for the team title, but a challenging second round gave the Thunderbirds the edge. Individually, sophomore Kylie Rehberger placed second at +15 (159), and freshman Angelina Borg-Malec tied for third at +18 (162) to pace the Cougars.

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team finished second at the Mesa Thunderbird at 65-over 641 on Feb. 14-15 at Dobson Ranch Golf Course. The Cougars posted a three-shot improvement in their second round, and sophomore Kylie Rehberger placed second at three over 147.
Kylie Rehberger Wins Pima Women's Invite, SMCC Takes Second

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed second at the Pima Women's Invite Jan. 28-29 at the Dell Urich Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz. Individually, sophomore Kylie Rehberger carded a back-nine 37 to break a three-way tie for first and claim individual medalist honors at 13-over, 153 while freshmen Angelina Borg-Malec and Raquel Pargas recorded top-10 finishes.
SMCC Women's Golf Sophomore Kylie Rehberger Wins ACCAC Fall Preview

Sophomore Kylie Rehberger took home individual medalist honors at the ACCAC Fall Preview Nov. 14-15 at Dobson Ranch Golf Course. Rehberger birdied the final hole of the tournament to fend off a challenge from Mesa CC's Abby Schmidt and Chandler-Gilbert CC's Kaylin Johnson and win the tournament by one stroke. As a team, SMCC finished second to Mesa CC by 13 strokes and the Cougars improved by six strokes in the second round.
Angelina Borg-Malec Ties for Eighth at Redhawk Rumble

Freshman Angelina Borg-Malec paced the South Mountain Community College women's golf team by tying for eighth place at the Redhawk Rumble hosted by Benedictine-Mesa at Las Sendas Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. Borg-Malec recorded identical rounds of 83 to finish at +24 and tie with Mesa CC's Abby Schmidt. As a team, the Cougars finished fourth at the tournament, finishing at +127 (695) for the two rounds.
Rehberger, Cougar Women's Golf Place Second at SMCC Fall Invite

Sophomore Kylie Rehberger finished at even-par 144, including a second-round score of three-under 69, to place second at the SMCC Fall Invite Sept. 19-20 at Aguila Golf Course in Laveen, Ariz. As a team, SMCC took second at the event with a score of 47-over 623 with rounds of 312 and 311.
