Angelina Borg-Malec Ties for Eighth at Redhawk Rumble

Freshman Angelina Borg-Malec paced the South Mountain Community College women's golf team by tying for eighth place at the Redhawk Rumble hosted by Benedictine-Mesa at Las Sendas Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. Borg-Malec recorded identical rounds of 83 to finish at +24 (166) and tie with Mesa CC's Abby Schmidt. As a team, the Cougars finished fourth at the tournament, finishing at +127 (695) for the two rounds. 

SMCC opened with a 341 and then posted a 354 in its second round. Borg-Malec moved up one spot on the leaderboard after the first round. 

Sophomore Kylie Rehberger finished 13th at +31 (173) with rounds of 86 and 87 and sophomore Trixie Sabulao tied for 14th at +36 (178) with scores of 87 and 91 on the par-71 course. 

Freshman Kylie Zeman placed 16th at +40 (182) with scores of 89 and 93, and freshman Raquel Pargas took 18th at +42 (184) with rounds of 85 and 99.
