Kylie Rehberger Wins Pima Women's Invite, SMCC Takes Second

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed second at the Pima Women's Invite Jan. 28-29 at the Dell Urich Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz. Individually, sophomore Kylie Rehberger carded a back-nine 37 to break a three-way tie for first and claim individual medalist honors at 13-over, 153 while freshmen Angelina Borg-Malec and Raquel Pargas recorded top-10 finishes. 

The Cougars finished at 90-over, 650 to take second place among the four teams competing in the event. They opened with a 320 and then posted a 330 in the second round to finish 23 strokes behind Mesa CC. 

Rehberger posted rounds of 76 and 77 to tie with Pima CC's Angelica Martinez and Mesa CC's Pickron, but her score over the final nine holes lifted her to the individual medalist honors. Rehberger won the ACCAC Fall Preview and earned All-District, All-Region and All-Conference honors in 2022. 

Borg-Malec took eighth place with a score of 23-over, 163, and posted rounds of 81 and 82 on the par-70 course. Pargas moved up two spots in the second round after posting her second-straight 82 to finish at 24-over, 164. 

Sophomore Trixie Sabulao finished 13th at 30-over, 170 with scores of 81 and 89, and freshman Mia Hill tied for 16th at 34-over, 174, with rounds of 84 and 90.
