SMCC Women's Volleyball Falls to Eastern Arizona

The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team (2-6) lost 3-0 to Eastern Arizona College in a non-conference contest in Thatcher, Ariz. Madison Cadden had eight kills, and Rylee Pitts added seven, but the Cougars could not hold off the Gila Monsters.  

SMCC hit .091 for the match, collecting 25 kills on 99 swings. The Gila Monsters held on for a 26-24 win in the first set and then posted 25-20 and 24-22 victories in the second and third set, respectively, to sweep the contest. 

Cadden, named ACCAC Offensive Player of the Week earlier in the day, had eight kills on 25 swings to finish with a .240 hitting percentage. She also had a dig and a block assist. 

Pitts recorded seven kills on 16 swings to post a .312 hitting percentage. She also had two service aces, two solo blocks and four block assists.  

Delicea McAuley led the Cougars with 17 assists, and she added two service aces and two digs. Rylee Wengert had a team-high nine digs to go with a service ace. Rylee Russell finished with three assists, two digs and three block assists.
