SMCC Women's Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Glendale CC

The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team (5-14, 2-6 ACCAC) lost 3-1 at Glendale CC in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on Sept. 28. Sophomore Madison Cadden led SMCC with 18 kills, freshman Rylee Pitts added a season-high 17 kills and sophomore Emily Wilson posted 11 kills and 15 digs for her fourth double-double of the year, but the Gauchos won the third and fourth set to clinch the victory: 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20. 

SMCC hit .211 in the match with 55 kills on 166 attacks and posted 55 assists, 93 digs, three aces and seven blocks. The Cougars hit .333 with 15 kills and one error in 42 swings in the second set. 

Cadden hit .248 with 18 kills on 48 attacks and added four digs, a solo block and two block assists. Pitts finished with 17 kills and hit .213 on 47 attacks, and she recorded 11 digs to post her first career double-double.  

Wilson finished with 11 kills and 15 digs for her fourth double-double of the year. Sophomore Jalyssa Rogers added six kills, two digs and a block assist, and freshman Brynley Lynch had two kills and three digs. 

Freshman Delicea McAuley led SMCC with 55 assists and added 14 digs for her third-straight double-double. Sophomore Imani Cannon led the Cougars with 22 digs, and freshmen Rylee Wengert and Shayna Simmers each recorded 11 digs.
