Freshman outfielder Azlynn Madrid batted 7 of 9 (.778) for the SMCC softball team as the Cougars went 3-1 in ACCAC contests with Gateway CC and Mesa CC. In a doubleheader with the Geckos, Madrid went 6 for 6 with four doubles, three runs, and four RBIs. Madrid then went 1 for 3 with two runs, two stolen bases, a double, and a walk in a win over the Mesa CC. She is batting .400 with 23 runs, eight doubles, a triple, 15 RBIs, eight walks, and 13 stolen bases in 24 games this season.
