Freshman Gina Benoche placed fifth at the Pima CC Fall Duel at 46-over, 188 as the SMCC women's golf team defeated their rivals from Tucson Nov. 8-9 at El Conquistador Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz. Benoche had rounds of 92 and 96 at the tournament and finished on the heels of teammate Trixie Sabulao.

At the Cougars' home fall tournament, the South Mountain Classic Nov. 1-2 at Agula Golf Course, Benoche tied for 15th at 66-over, 210 and had a two-shot improvement in her second round.
