Bio

Kevin Soine enters his third season as an assistant coach on the South Mountain Community College Baseball team in the 2021-22 academic year. A coaching veteran who has had stops throughout the country, Soine works with Cougar catchers and hitters and handles other administrative duties. He also works in the SMCC athletic department as a student learning facilitator, helping student-athletes navigate coursework, registration and other academic responsibilities. 

Soine started his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Dubuque for two years (2016, 2017). He then spent one year at Murray State College (2018) and then served one year as the Head Coach at Ridgewater College (MN) in 2018.

In addition to his duties at SMCC, Soine is a fixture in collegiate summer baseball leagues. He is currently in his second year as the head coach of the Holly Spring Salamanders (NC) in the Coastal Plain League. He also served as an assistant and head coach of the CPL’s Martinsville Mustangs.

Soine graduated from Grand View University with a B.A. in Business Administration in 2014 and later completed his MBA in 2017. He played outfield at Grand View, served as a team captain and earned two all-conference honors. Soine spent his first year at Century College in Minnesota.

He currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ and both of my parents still live in Minnesota, where he grew up. He has two brothers (Taylor and Josh) and one sister (Kylie).
