Bio

Cameron Johnson was named South Mountain Community College Men’s basketball associate head coach in March 2022.

Johnson comes to SMCC with extensive coaching experience. He most recently served as head coach at Tolleson Union High School from 2019-2022 before accepting the position at SMCC. Before then, he served as a varsity assistant and JV coach at Desert Edge High School from 2015-2019

Johnson is a former Cougar who played at SMCC for one season: 2010-11. That squad started the season with 21-straight victories and went on to be the first Division II team to win the ACCAC regular season title.

After SMCC, he transferred to NAIA Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va to continue his playing career

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History from Arizona State University in 2015. Johnson also works a History teacher in the Phoenix Union High School District
