Bio

Scott Winter is an assistant coach for the SMCC Men's Basketball team starting in 2023.

He has had a long career in the corporate business world serving others and coaching individuals around life skills and leading them to success.  Winter is focused on serving the Cougars and developing leaders in the South Mountain community.  He is a community Board Member on the Laveen Elementary School District Trust Board and serves with an Arizona non-profit where he focuses on helping young adults navigate life’s challenges in South Phoenix.

Winter has lived in the Phoenix area for most of his adult life and has deep generational family roots in South Phoenix where he and his immediate family have lived since 2009.

He is a first-generation college graduate starting his education at Glendale Community College.  He later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2005 followed by a Master’s in IT Project Management from The George Washington University in 2008, and a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary in 2023.  Winter is also an active Cougar completing a certificate in Web App Development in 2023 as he continues his personal growth and as he walks side-by-side with students in the South Mountain experience.
