SMCC Men's Golf Competes at Herb Wimberly Invitational

The South Mountain Community College men's golf team placed ninth at the Herb Wimberly Invitational on Oct. 15-17 at the University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M. Facing a host of NCAA Division I institutions, the Cougars finished at +30 (882) over the three rounds and tied for the second-best round as a team in the final round. Individually, sophomore Brady Clark tied for 14th at +2 (215) to lead SMCC. 

The Cougars posted team scores of 293, 304 and 285 over the 54 holes. The Cougars' final round score of +1 (285) tied with New Mexico State for the second-best score over the last 18 holes. NMSU won the team title with a final score of -19 (833).

Clark moved up 15 spots on the leaderboard with a -3 (68) in his final round. He posted scores of 76 and 71 in his first and second rounds, respectively. 

Freshman Gael Quesada tied for 22nd at +4 (217) with scores of 71, 76 and 70. Freshman Dillon Dean tied for 56th at +13 (226) with rounds of 75, 79, and 72, while sophomore Cole Finch and freshman Graysen Collins tied for 61st. Finch carded rounds of 73, 81, and 75, and Collins finished with scores of 74, 78, and 77. 

NMSU's Javier Delgadillo won the event at -10 (203).
