SMCC Men's Soccer Falls to Yavapai College

The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team (1-8-1,1-6-1 ACCAC) lost 4-1 to Yavapai College in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Soccer Field on Oct. 10. The Cougars got on the board first courtesy of an own-goal by the Roughriders, but Yavapai answered with three goals in the first half and one in the second to post the 4-1 victory. 

SMCC finished with four shots in the match. Freshmen Brandon Soto and Alfonso Maldonado each had two shots with Maldanado firing one on frame. 

Sophomore Max Melendez started the match in goal for SMCC and made five saves in the first half. Freshman Anthony Sauceda played the final 45 minutes and made one stop. 

Sophomore Kevin Tejada and Soto received yellow cards. The Cougars had four corner kicks and committed 13 fouls.
