Bio

Fomer ASU standout Marisa Stankiewicz joins the South Mountain Community College softball team as a volunteer assistant coach. She will assist with hitting, fielding and other administrative duties. 

As a Sun Devil, Stankiewicz blasted 15 home runs and 10 doubles over her final two seasons while primarily playing in the infield. As a senior, she earned a Pac-12 Player of the Week award after totaling three home runs, seven RBIs and a 2.000 slugging percentage. 

A local product out of Gilbert High School, Stakiewicz hit .458 as a senior with 39 runs scored and a .673 slugging percentage. She helped lead her team to a 5A-1 final four in 2011 and was named to the Gilbert All-District Team and All-Tribune Second Team. 

Her brother, Drew, plays for the Phillies organization and her father, Andy, played at Pepperdine and went on to a seven-year career of professional baseball. He also was a former assistant coach at ASU (2007-09), winning two Pac-10 titles, and is currently the head coach at Grand Canyon University.
