SMCC Women's Basketball Falls to Phoenix College

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 60-51 to Phoenix College in an ACCAC contest at Phoenix College on Monday, Mar. 4. Freshman Chloe Wiley led SMCC with 17 points and freshman Janae Byrd added 11 points off the bench as the Cougars wrapped up their 2023-24 season.

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 57-41 to Scottsdale CC in an ACCAC contest on Feb. 28. Freshman Carissa Collier grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive glass, and scored seven points, and freshman Chloe Wiley scored nine points.

The South Mountain Community College women's basetball team fell 65-47 to Chandler-Gilbert CC on Feb. 17 and 77-35 to Mesa CC on Feb. 21 in a pair of ACCAC contests. Sophomore Miriam Traore posted a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds against the Coyotes, and the team celebrated its three sophomores (Hailey Connor, Kayla Pettet, Traore) on Sophomore Night against the Thunderbirds.
SMCC Women's Hoops Defeats Phoenix College

Freshman Janae Byrd scored 20 points, and three other Cougars finished in double-figures as the South Mountain Community College women's basketball team defeated Phoenix College 82-65 in an ACCAC contest on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the SMCC Gym. Sophomore Hailey Connor posted 16 points, freshman Mimi Miller added 14, and freshman Valery Velazquez recorded 12 as the Cougars posted their first win of the season.

Freshman Chloe Wiley scored 15 points to lead the South Mountain Community College women's basketball team in a 90-41 loss to Pima Community College in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Sophomore Miriam Traore grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the Cougars, matching a season-high for the second-straight game.

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (0-15, 0-10 ACCAC) lost 70-52 to Chandler-Gilbert CC in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Gym on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Sophomore Hailey Connor scored a career-high 20 points. She added four steals, and freshmen Chloe Wiley and Valery Valezquez finished with 10 points as the Cougars scored their third-most points in a game this season.

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (0-9, 0-5 ACCAC) lost 80-34 to Pima CC on Dec. 16 in an ACCAC contest and 74-46 to Gillette College on Dec. 19 in a non-conference game. Against the Aztecs, freshman Mimi Miller posted 10 points and 10 rebounds to record her second double-double. Three days later, sophomore Daziane Stevenson scored 13 and sophomore Hailey Connor added 12 against the Pronghorns.
