The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (0-12, 0-7 ACCAC) lost 103-37 to Eastern Arizona in an ACCAC contest in Thatcher, Ariz., on Saturday, Jan. 6. Freshman Chloe Wiley came off the bench to lead the Cougars with 12 points and sophomore Kayla Pettet knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
SMCC trailed 55-18 at halftime and lost 48-19 in the second half.
Wiley finished 3 of 9 from the field and made 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. She added three rebounds and an assist in 20 minutes. Pettet was 3 of 10 from the field and 2 of 4 from downtown. She added three rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes.
Sophomore Miriam Traore led SMCC with six rebounds and added four points, an assist, and a block. Freshman Janae Byrd had six points, three rebounds, and a steal in 25 minutes.
