Trio of SMCC Women's Golfers Qualify for NJCAA Southwest District Championships

Three members of the South Mountain Community College women's golf team have qualified for the 2024 NJCAA Southwest District Championships in Texas. At the Lady Coyote Invite on April 14-15 at Las Colinas Golf Course in Queen Creek, Ariz., freshman Kasey Reichard placed fourth at 12-over 154, sophomore Angelina Borg-Malec was fifth at 13-over 155, and freshman Lili Stutz was 10th at 24-over 166 as all three qualified for the upcoming tournament.  

Reichard improved by eight strokes in her second round, going from an 10-over 81 to 2-over 73. She moved up two spots on the final leaderboard, finishing one stroke behind third and one ahead of her teammate. She had two birdies in her second round. Rechard earned Second Team All-ACCAC honors for her play this season. 

Borg-Malec carded rounds of 5-over 76 and 8-over 79 to settle for fifth. She also had two birdies in her second round after posting two over her opening 18 holes. Borg-Malec earned First Team All-ACCAC honors.   

Stutz posted rounds of 14-over 85 and 10-over 81 to take 10th. She posted a birdie on No. 1 in her second round. She earned Second Team All-ACCAC honors. 

Sophomore Kayla Pettet was 19th at 62-over 204 with rounds of 110 and 94, posting a 16-stroke improvement in her second round.
