SMCC Volleyball Falls to Yavapai College

The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team (4-14, 1-6 ACCAC) lost 3-0 to Yavapai College in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on Oct. 5. The Cougars fell 25-20, 25-18 and 25-13 to the Roughriders as they played the first of seven home matches in October. 

SMCC hit -.009 in the three sets, compiling 25 kills and 26 errors in 117 attacks. The Cougars also had 51 digs and five blocks.

Freshman Maleah Reynolds led the team with 10 kills on 47 attacks. She added an assist and nine digs for the match, and she leads the squad with 131 kills for the season. 

Freshman Madison Cadden was second on the squad with six kills on 24 swings. She had a dig and a block assist in the match, and now has 58 kills for the season. 

Sophomore Mckenna Androsky had five kills in 18 attacks and added two digs. She is second on the Cougars with 98 kills on the season. 

Sophomore Gracie Henderson led the team with 13 assists and added seven digs. Freshman Maddie Marcotte had 11 assists, five digs and a service ace.  

Freshman Imani Cannon led the team with 11 digs and sophomore Sienna Cumbie added nine digs and an assist.
