SMCC Women's Volleyball Squares off With Utah State-Eastern and Eastern Arizona

The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team (3-11) lost 3-0 to Utah State-Eastern in Henderson, Nev., at the Coyote Classic on Sept. 10. The Cougars then dropped a 3-0 decision at Eastern Arizona in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference match on Sept. 14. 

Against Utah State-Eastern, sophomores Madison Cadden and Emily Wilson led SMCC with nine kills apiece. Cadden hit .360 in 25 swings and added a dig, while Wilson hit .222 in 27 attacks with seven digs. 

Freshman Rylee Wengert led the Cougars with 16 digs and fellow freshman Delicea McAuley had a team-high 23 assists with eight digs. 

Against the Gila Monsters, Cadden had a team-high nine digs on 25 attacks and added three block assists. Wilson and freshman Rylee Pitts each had five kills Wilson finished with four kills and two block assists while Pitts recorded a block assist. 

Sophomore Jalyssa Rogers had four kills on eight swings and Smith posted three kills on six attacks. Freshman Rylee Russell had three kills, 12 assists and six digs, and McAuley posted a team-high 19 assists to go with eight digs.
