Bio

Shakir "Shak" Preston was named an SMCC women's basketball assistant coach in October 2023. 

Preston has experience from three different aspects of basketball; player, coach, and trainer. Most recently Preston was an assistant coach with the Phoenix College Bears during the 2021-2022 season.

Prior to that Shak extended his arms internationally as a trainer in Panama City, Panama as a PG trainer for “The Process Basketball” which is one of the biggest training companies in Europe.

As well as lead trainer and coach for “Top Flight Basketball” located in Bangkok, Thailand. Shak is also owner and founder of Point Gawd LLC  which specializes in skill development for players at all levels.
