SMCC Women's Hoops Falls to Glendale CC

Sophomore Miriam Traore scored a season-high 17 points, but the SMCC women's basketball team lost 87-66 to Glendale CC in an ACCAC contest on Feb. 12. Freshman Chloe Wiley posted 15 and sophomore Hailey Connor added 14 for the Cougars.

Traore came off the bench to finish 8 of 13 from the field in 37 minutes. She added six rebounds, three of which were offensive rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.

Wiley connected on a season-high five 3-pointers in 34 minutes. She also had a pair of steals. Wiley is averaging 8.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 18 contests this season.

Connor was 5 of 13 from the field and made a 3-pointer in 38 minutes. She tied with Traore for the team lead with six rebounds and added two steals and two assists.

Freshman Valery Valezquez scored eight points and added two rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 24 minutes. 

Freshman Mimi Miller came off the bench to post six points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 26 minutes, and fellow rookie Carissa Collier had five points, four rebounds, two blocks, and one assist in 23 minutes before fouling out.
