SMCC Women's Golf Places Third at Pima Women's Invite

The South Mountain Community College women's golf team placed third at the Pima Women's Invite at Randolph North Golf Course Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 in Tucson, Ariz. The Cougars finished at +144 as a team, and held off Estrella Mountain CC by 10 strokes for third place. Individually, Kylie Rehberger led SMCC with a sixth-place finish, carding a 16-over, 162 over the 36 holes. 

The Cougars opened with a 359 and then carded a 369 in their second round. They edged Estrella Mountain CC by 10 strokes for third place, and Mesa CC won the tournament at 49-over, 633. 

Rehberger carded a five-over 78 in her first round and produced an 84 in her second to lead SMCC. Trixie Sabulao finished second on the squad, tying for 11th at 31-over, 177. She posted rounds of 89 and 88 at the event. 

Jenna Lee took 18th at 47-over, 193 with rounds of 98 and 93, and Emma Fisher was 21st at 53-over, 199 with rounds of 97 and 102. 

Gina Benoche placed 22nd at 54-over, 200 with rounds of 95 and 105, while Alyssa Miner tied for 23rd at 55-over, 201 with rounds of 102 and 99.
