SMCC Women's Soccer Falls to Pima CC
October 23, 2023
The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-14-1, 0-11-1 ACCAC) lost 7-0 to Pima CC in an ACCAC contest on Oct. 19 in Tucson. The first half of the match was played on Oct. 17, but a lightning delay forced the teams to have to reconvene on Thursday, Oct. 19.
SMCC Women's Soccer Falls to Scottsdale CC on Sophomore Day

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-13-1, 0-10-1 ACCAC) lost 6-0 to Scottsdale CC on Saturday, Oct. 14 in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Soccer Field. Sophomore Lucy Millan made 14 saves in goal for the Cougars as the program recognized its sophomores playing in their final career home match: Alicia Nicholson, Nayeli Ixtabalan, Valeria Rodriguez, Aline Cota and Millan.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-12-1, 0-9-1 ACCAC) lost 2-0 to Yavapai College in an ACCAC soccer match at the SMCC Soccer Field on Oct. 10. The Roughriders scored a goal in each half, but freshman Litzy Valenzuela made 12 saves in net for the Cougars.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-11-1, 0-8-1 ACCAC) lost 8-0 to Phoenix College in an ACCAC road contest on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Sophomore Lucy Millan made eight saves in net for SMCC, and Nayeli Ixtalaban and Keyla Garcia had shots for the Cougars.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-10-1, 0-7-1 ACCAC) lost 5-0 to Glendale CC in an ACCAC contest on Sept. 30. Sophomore Lucy Millan made 18 saves in net in the first half and freshman Gabriella Andre added four stops in the second half against the Gauchos.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-9-1, 0-6-1 ACCAC) lost 9-0 to Eastern Arizona in an ACCAC match at SMCC Soccer Field on Saturday, Sept. 23. Sophomore Lucy Millan made 12 saves in goal for the Cougars in defeat.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-8-1, 0-5-1 ACCAC) lost 12-0 to No. 11 Arizona Western in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Soccer Field on Sept. 19. The Division I Matadors scored six goals in each half to defeat the Cougars.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-7-1, 0-4-1 ACCAC) lost 8-0 to Cochise College in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Soccer Field on Sept. 16. Freshman Marian Oliva made nine saves in net and three Cougars recorded shots on goal in the contest.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-6-1, 0-3-1 ACCAC) lost 6-1 at Mesa CC in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on Sept. 12. Freshman Keyla Garcia scored her team-leading third goal of the season and freshman Marian Oliva made 13 saves in goal for the Cougars.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-5-1, 0-2-1 ACCAC) lost 7-1 to Chandler-Gilbert CC in an ACCAC match on Sept. 9 at the SMCC Soccer Field. Freshman midifelder Keyla Garcia scored her team-leading second goal of the season and freshman Keiry Foneseca recorded an assist on the play.
SMCC Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at PVCC

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-1-1 ACCAC) played to a 0-0 draw with Paradise Valley Community College in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on Sept. 5. Freshman Marian Oliva made 10 saves in net for SMCC to earn her first career shutout.

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-4-0, 0-1-0 ACCAC) lost 6-0 to Glendale CC on Aug. 29 and 4-1 to Gateway CC on Sept. 1 in a pair of matches. In the ACCAC opener against the Geckos, sophomore Lucy Millan scored 74th minute off an assist from Litzy Valenzuela.
Cougar Women's Soccer Falls at No. 5 Pima CC

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team lost 7-1 to No. 5 Pima CC in a non-conference match in Tucson on Saturday, Aug. 26. Freshman Keyla Garcia scored the first goal of her Cougar career and sophomore Lucy Millan made 24 saves in net as SMCC battled with the nationally ranked Aztecs.
SMCC Women's Soccer Opens 2023 Season vs. Western Wyoming CC

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team lost 3-0 to Western Wyoming CC in a non-conference home match at the SMCC Soccer Field on Friday, Aug. 18. Sophomore Lucy Millan had to come off the bench to play goalie for the Cougars and responded with eight saves, including stopping a penalty kick, in over 68 minutes of action.
