Rehberger Places Fifth at Chandler-Gilbert Invite to Pace SMCC Women's Golf

Freshman Kylie Rehberger placed fifth to lead the SMCC women's golf team at the Chandler-Gilbert Invite on April 2-3 in Queen Creek, Ariz., at Las Colinas Golf Course. Rehberger finished at seven-over, 151 for the two rounds, and the Cougars took fourth as a team. 

Rehberger carded rounds of 74 and 77 on the par-72 course and edged Abby Schmidt from Mesa CC by one stroke to record her fourth top-five finish of the spring.

Freshman Trixie Sabulao took 14th at 26-over, 170 with rounds of 82 and 88, and freshman Gina Benoche placed 19th at 43-over, 187 with rounds of 90 and 97. 

Sophomores Alyssa Miner and Emma Fisher tied for 20th with identical rounds of 92 and 96 to finish at 44-over, 188. Sophomore Tabitha Bitter was 23rd at 46-over, 190, with rounds of 91 and 99. 

The Cougars posted rounds of 337 and 358 for the two days to finish at 119-over, 695. They held off fourth-place Estrella Mountain CC by 10 strokes and missed third by four as the host CGCC Coyotes finished at 116-over, 692.
