Kylie Rehberger Qualifies for NJCAA National Championships

South Mountain Community College women's golf freshman Kylie Rehberger qualified for the NJCAA National Championships on May 9-12 in Sanford, Fla., at Mayfair Country Club. Originally from Chandler, Ariz., Rehberger earned All-District, All-Region and All-Conference honors for her play during the season and will compete in Florida as an individual. 

Rehberger has posted five top-five finishes, placed second at three spring tournaments, and had a two-round scoring average of 154.5. 

At the 2021 NJCAA Southwest District Championships, Rehberger led SMCC and earned All-District honors with an eighth-place finish at nine-over, 239. On the par-72 course, Rehberger carded rounds of 79, 79 and 81 to place eighth and edge a par of competitors who tied for ninth by one stroke.

Rehberger opened the season with a second-place finish at +8 (152) at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational. She opened with a 77 and improved by two strokes in her second round. 

She tied for the second at the event at +11 (153) at the South Mountain Invitational, posting rounds of 77 and 76. Rehberger also finished second overall with a +12 (156) at the Paradise Valley Invitational after an opening round of +2, 74. 

Rehberger also placed fifth at the Estrella Mountain Women's Invite and the Chandler-Gilbert Invite and was sixth at the Pima Women's Invite. 

Her qualification for the NJCAA National Championships marks the second-straight year that the Cougars and head coach Chelsea Carroll have participated in the event. In 2021, SMCC sent Miriam Verdugo and Jenna Lee to the tournament at Plantation Bay Beach and Country Club in Ormond Beach, Fla.
