Cougar Women's Volleyball Battles with Arizona Western

The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team lost 3-0 to Arizona Western on Oct. 12 in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference home match. Sophomore Madison Cadden led SMCC with 12 kills and freshman Rylee Pitts added nine against the Matadors. 

The Cougars hit .175 as a team over the three sets, totaling 31 kills in 103 attacks. They had 31 assists, five service aces and 40 digs over the three sets. 

Cadden hit .257 on 35 swings and added two digs and an ace. Pitts finished with a .143 hitting percentage on 28 swings and recorded two aces and four digs. Sophomore Jalyssa Rogers was third on the team with six kills, hitting .357 on 14 attacks. She also had a dig and solo block. 

Freshman Delicea McAuley led the team with 31 assists and added two digs and an ace, while sophomore Imani Cannon paced the Cougars with 19 digs. Freshman Rylee Wengert added six digs and sophomore Emily Wilson chipped in with five digs and two kills.
