Madison Cadden Earns Second Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I Division II Team Honors

Sophomore Madison Cadden earned Second Team All-ACCAC honors and received a place on the All-Region I Division II  Team after an outstanding 2022 regular season for the SMCC women's volleyball team. An outside hitter from Gilbert, Ariz., Cadden led the ACCAC with 327 kills, finished second in kills/set (3.63) and third in hitting percentage (.293) as the Cougars qualified for the upcoming Region I Division II Tournament. 

Cadden is the fourth Cougar since 2012 to finish with more than 300 kills, the third Cougar since 2012 to average more than 3 kills per set, and the fifth Cougar since 2012 to reach 400 career kills. She posted a season-high 23 kills in a five-set victory over Park-Gilbert and had 22 kills in contests against Pima CC and Glendale CC. 

In 15 ACCAC matches, Cadden finished second in the league in kills (192), kills/set (3.92), and sixth in hitting percentage (.274). Cadden also finished with 80 digs, five solo blocks, 24 block assists and 15 service aces during the 2022 campaign. 

She and the Cougars finished 8-18 overall and 5-10 in ACCAC action to qualify for the Region I Division II Tournament. SMCC opens the double-elimination event on Thursday, Nov. 3 against the host Scottsdale CC Artichokes at 7 p.m.
