Bio

Dr. Brian J (Doc) Murphy is a professor of Psychology and Sociology currently in his 28^th year at South Mountain Community College. He taught the first Sports Psychology course at SMCC.

Beginning in 1993, Doc has served as an assistant coach in both volleyball and softball through the years. He was part of four coaching staffs to participate in the NJCAA National Championships, two in volleyball and two in softball.

In addition to holding seminars in mental skills training for club, high school and college athletes, Dr. Murphy has lent expertise to several NCAA teams in the Big Sky, Big 12, ACC, Big Ten and PAC-12 Conferences.
