SMCC Baseball in the 2023 NCAA Division I Tournament

The South Mountain Community College baseball team has six former Cougars who will participate in the upcoming 2023 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The former Cougars will begin play at one of 16 regionals with the hope of advancing to Super Regionals the following weekend and finally the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., from June 16-26. 

Stillwater Regional 

Holden Breeze -- Oral Roberts University: Breeze enters the NCAA Tournament batting .332 with 45 runs and 71 hits in 57 games for the Golden Eagles ... earned a spot on the Summit League Championship All-Tournament Team after finishing 5-for-12 (.417) with two runs, four RBIs and four walks ... Breeze also has 12 doubles, five home runs, 38 RBIs and four stolen bases on the season. 

Justin Quinn -- Oral Roberts University: Quinn enters the NCAA Tournament batting .346 with 50 runs and 54 hits in 38 games for the Golden Eagles ... received Summit League Championship MVP after finishing 8-for-14 (.571) with six runs, five RBIs and a double over the three-game tournament ... Quinn also has eight doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBIs and eight stolen bases on the season. 

McKay Barney -- University of Washington: Barney enters the NCAA Tournament batting .294 with 14 runs and 20 hits in 35 games for the Huskies ... also has recorded a double, eight RBIs, nine walks and two stolen bases on the season. 

Auburn Regional

Bobby Peirce -- Auburn University: Peirce enters the NCAA Tournament batting .353 in 44 games for the Eagles ... he has scored 43 runs and posted 61 hits, including 10 doubles, two triples, and five home runs ... also has 26 RBIs and four stolen bases on the season. 

Clemson Regional

Matthew Bohnert -- Lipscomb University: Bohnert has appeared in 14 games for the Bison in 2023, sporting a 1-1 record with three saves, 23 K's and a 6.50 ERA in 18 innings of work. 

Columbia Regional

Trent Adams -- Campbell University: Adams has made four appearances for the Camels in 2023, sporting a 3.00 ERA with two K's in 3.0 innings of work.
