Darien Allen Earns Third Team All-ACCAC Honors

Freshman Darien Allen earned Third Team All-ACCAC honors for the 2021-22 season, the conference office announced. A 6-5 forward from Columbia, Mo., Allen 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per game for the Cougars.

Allen led SMCC in rebounding and finished second in scoring. He shot 55.4 percent from the field and 74.1 percent from the free-throw line. He was 15th in the ACCAC in rebounding, 11th in blocks and 19th in scoring and steals.

Allen scored a season-high 28 points in a 57-54 victory over Bismarck State College on Dec. 29. He had a season-high 10 field goals in three games. He scored in double-figures 22 times during the season.

He posted five games with a season-high nine rebounds and grabbed eight in five additional contests. Allen posted a season-high three blocked shots three times and had a season-high three steals twice.

SMCC finished 14-16 overall and 8-12 in ACCAC in the 2021-22 season.
