Bio

Mychael Broom is entering his first season with South Mountain Community College during the 2021-22 academic year. Broom is joining our Men’s Basketball staff coming from SAGU American Indian College where he and Coach Floco led SAGU AIC to a conference title and NCCAA National Tournament berth. 
 
Broom is an Arizona Native. He attended Marcos De Niza High School and Phoenix College before accepting a scholarship to play Division 1 for Detroit- Mercy University. After his playing days were over, Broom quickly found his call to coaching by returning to Marcos De Niza where he assumed the role of player development and skills training. He has coached all levels at his alma mater and has made a big impact on the program. 
 
Broom has trained and facilitated workouts for multiple NCAA D1 - NBA Prospects in pursuit to play at the professional level. He is versed in high level basketball and has an extensive network of Elite Trainers/ Coaches who have propelled him in his coaching journey to strive for excellence. 
 
Broom is currently attempting to pursue a degree in Law and he has aspirations to coach at the Division 1 level. He is excited to join the Cougar Family and will our help our Men’s program with recruiting, player development, defensive play calling, and academic guidance.
