Making History: Chelsea Carroll Becomes First Woman Head Coach to Lead a Men's Team to a National Title

PHOENIX ---

South Mountain Community College men's golf head coach Chelsea Carroll made history in 2022 when she became the first woman to lead a men's team to an NJCAA National Championship as the Cougars captured the 2022 NJCAA DII Title. SMCC Athletics has confirmed with the NJCAA that they consider her the first woman in its history to lead a men's team to a National Championship in any division. Her achievement came weeks before the 50th anniversary (June 23, 1972) of the passage of Title IX legislation.
