The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team lost 4-3 to Scottsdale Community College on Oct. 12. After the Artichokes built a 3-0 lead in the first half, the Cougars scored three goals over the final 16 minutes to nearly pull off the comeback. Dair Figueroa scored in the 74th minute to make the score 3-1 and Miguel Perez scored in the 88th minute to bring SMCC within 3-2. A goal 30 seconds later by SCC was immediately answered by a goal from Michael Miller. However, the Cougars could not find an equalizer in the final minute of action.
