The South Mountain Community College men's soccer team (1-4-1, 1-2-1 ACCAC) lost 5-0 to No. 2 Arizona Western in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Soccer Field on Sept. 19. The Division I Matadors struck for two goals in the first half and three in the second to defeat the Cougars.
Sophomore Max Melendez made five saves in net while playing over 80 minutes. Freshman Anthony Sauceda allowed one goal in more than nine minutes in goal for SMCC.
Sophomore Marco Amador finished with three shots, and freshmen Kevin Urias and Alfonso Maldonado had a shot apiece.
