Marco Amador Earns All-ACCAC and All-Region I Honors

Freshman midfielder Marco Amador earned Second Team All-ACCAC and Second Team All-Region I Division II honors for his work on the pitch for the South Mountain Community College in the recently completed 2022 season. Originally from Nogales, Ariz., Amador totaled a team-high five goals and 10 points during the campaign, including the game-winning goal in double overtime against Gateway CC. 

Amador opened the season with a pair of goals in a match at Paradise Valley CC on Aug. 19, the Cougars' first match since the 2019 season. He also scored at Arizona Western on Sept. 10 and again at Paradise Valley CC on Sept. 20. 

Against the Geckos on Sophomore Day, Amador scored unassisted in the 109th minute to help lift SMCC to its first win of the year. Amador finished with a team-high 22 shots and 13 shots on goal for the year.
