SMCC Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at PVCC

The South Mountain Community College women's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-1-1 ACCAC) played to a 0-0 draw with Paradise Valley Community College in an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference contest on Sept. 5. Freshman Marian Oliva made 10 saves in net for SMCC to earn her first career shutout. 

Oliva made six stops in the first half and four in the second to help SMCC earn a road draw. PVCC outshot the Cougars 18-8 over the 90 minutes, and SMCC forced six saves from the Pumas' goalkeeper. 

Freshman Gabriella Andre and sophomore Valeria Rodriguez each had two shots on goal. Freshmen Keyla Garcia and Litzy Valenzuela put attempts on frame, and sophomore Aline Cota and freshman Keiry Fonseca had shots. 

SMCC finished with two corner kicks, and Andre saw a yellow card late in the contest.
