SMCC Women's Basketball Announces Four-Year Transfers

Sophomores Andrea Willeto (Benedictine-Mesa) and Myla Lee (Claflin University) of the South Mountain Community College women's basketball team will continue their intercollegiate basketball careers for the upcoming 2023-24 season. 

Willeto is a 5-7 guard from Ojo Encino, N.M., who appeared in 27 games and made 25 starts for SMCC in the 2022-23 season. She averaged 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 assists per game and scored in double-figures 18 times. Willeto scored a season-high 21 points and four 3-pointers against Justice College, had four games with double-figure rebounds and grabbed a season-high 11 boards in a win at Phoenix College. 

The Benedcitine-Mesa Redhawks are an NAIA program in Mesa, Ariz., that competes in the California Pacific Conference. 

Lee is a 5-9 guard from Phoenix who started 27 games for SMCC in the 2022-23 season. She averaged 12.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game and scored in double-figures 20 times. Lee scored a season-high 23 points against Glendale CC and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds twice. Lee dished out a season-high eight assists against Yavapai College and had a season-high seven steals against Arizona Christian University (JV).

The Claflin University Panthers are an NCAA Division II program in Orangeburg, S.C. that competes in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
