The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 60-51 to Phoenix College in an ACCAC contest at Phoenix College on Monday, Mar. 4. Freshman Chloe Wiley led SMCC with 17 points and freshman Janae Byrd added 11 points off the bench as the Cougars wrapped up their 2023-24 season.
Wiley was 7 of 20 from the field, making three 3-pointers. She also had three rebounds, three steals, and an assist.
Byrd came off the bench to finish 3 of 11 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. She added a team-high five assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Sophomore Hailey Connor led the Cougars with seven rebounds and added six points, two assists, and two steals. Freshman Mimi Miller had six points, four rebounds, and two assists, and sophomore Kayla Pettet posted seven points and five rebounds.
