SMCC Women's Basketball Grapples with Pima CC

Freshman Chloe Wiley scored 15 points to lead the South Mountain Community College women's basketball team in a 90-41 loss to Pima Community College in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Sophomore Miriam Traore grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the Cougars, matching a season-high for the second-straight game. 

Wiley connected on four 3-pointers in 28 minutes to set a new season high. She added two rebounds and a steal, averaging 8.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 17 contests. 

Traore finished with 11 defensive rebounds and added seven points, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes. She is averaging 4.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 18 contests. 

Sophomore Hailey Connor was second on the team with nine points. She also posted four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 39 minutes. She averages 7.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 17 games. 

Sophomore Kayla Pettet had nine rebounds and six points in 25 minutes, making all four free throws. She is averaging 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 13 games.
