Cougar Women's Hoops Falls to Scottsdale CC

The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (0-6, 0-4 ACCAC) lost 108-44 to Scottsdale CC in an ACCAC contest at the SMCC Gym on Dec. 13. Freshman Mimi Miller tied her season high with 18 points and sophomore Miriam Traore finished with 10 off the bench for the Cougars. 

SMCC trailed 43-13 at halftime and lost 65-31 in the second half. The Cougars shot 30 percent (15 of 50) from the field and 80 percent (12 of 15) from the free-throw line. They added 27 rebounds, 12 assists, and nine steals in the loss. 

Miller was 4 of 12 from the field in 38 minutes, and four of her eight boards came on the offensive glass. Traore was 4 of 10 from the field in 23 minutes as a reserve. She also had six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. 

Sophomore Hailey Connor had nine points for the second-straight game and added five rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 30 minutes. Freshman Chloe Wile had two rebounds, two assists, and three steals, while sophomore Daziane Stevenson had four points and an assist.
